As a Detroit Lion, Tahir Whitehead will finally get the opportunity to play inside Ford Field.
“That’s crazy,” said the former Temple outside linebacker, who was selected by the Lions Saturday in the fifth-round of the NFL Draft.
In addition to being Detroit’s home stadium, Ford Field is the site of the Mid-American Conference championship game. Temple has never reached the MAC final while being a football-only member since 2007. Temple will officially join the Big East Conference in July.
“And for four years I was trying my best to get to Ford Field,” Whitehead said. “Now, this place is going to my home.”
