Temple's 2013 tilt with Maryland postponed
Keith Pompey, Inquirer Staff Writer
Temple's scheduled football game at Maryland on Sept. 7, 2013 has been postponed to a yet-to-be-determined season.
The Terrapins, instead, will play Old Dominion, an Football Championship Subdivision school in the Colonial Athletic Conference.
Temple's current nonleague games for next season are at Notre Dame (Aug. 31), at Idaho (Sept. 28) and versus Army (Oct. 19) at Lincoln Financial Field.
The Temple vs. Maryland game was scheduled prior to the March announcement that the Owls would rejoin the Big East Conference. Since then, Temple has been making changes to its nonconference schedule. Now that they're in a BCS conference, the Owls want a manageable nonleague schedule to help get the six wins needed to become bowl eligible.
Teams already are running from the Owls. Notice that Alabama has not yet scheduled the Owls either. Fear the Owls. Hoot, Hoot!!! jakelbi
I liked to see Villanova or Delawere. One FBS is OK and those schools would draw better then a Idaho. ameadie
TU will get a W vs the turtles. Keep them on the schedule. Period
Weak. John Chaney played anybody anywhere. Bruce Arians played anybody anywhere. Is this temple tuff? owl87
This is a baaaaaaad football team. drbob1
Of course they're bad. they had major losses to graduation and they're playing an elevated level of competition from the MAC. Talk to me in 3-4 seasons from now. Phillyburb
ND must have offered a boat load of $$$ to have Temple come there for a BSC tune-up to start the season .... ala what alabama / LSU does RockingatMidnite
Temple dropping Maryland game because they would get another loss. What a joke, Temple football. johnphilly
