Temple will face Massachusetts in Friday’s 12 p.m. Atlantic Ten Conference Tournament quarterfinal at Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall.

The Minutemen defeated Duquesne, 92-83, in a first-round matchup on Tuesday night at UMass. The top-seeded Owls (24-6) had a first-round bye.

Guard Chaz Williams led the Minutemen with 21 points, eight rebounds and four assists.  Raphiael Putney added 20 points as UMass improved to 21-10. The Dukes finished the season with a 16-15 record.

Temple escaped with a 90-88 overtime victory over UMass on Feb. 29.
