Temple to face Western Michigan in Puerto Rico Tip-Off tourney opener

The Temple men's basketball team will take on Western Michigan in the opening game of the 2011 Puerto Rico Tip-Off on Nov. 17. The Owls face the Broncos tips at 10:30 a.m. (11:30 a.m. local (Atlantic) time) and will be televised live by ESPNU.

 The Temple men's basketball team will take on Western Michigan in the opening game of the 2011 Puerto Rico Tip-Off on Nov. 17. The Owls face the Broncos tips at 10:30 a.m. (11:30 a.m. local (Atlantic) time) and will be televised live by ESPNU.

 The winner of the Temple-Western Michigan game will play the winner of Purdue-Iona, the second game of the tournament, on Friday, Nov. 18 at 1 p.m. on ESPNU.  The losers of the first two games will move to the consolation bracket and play at 3:30 p.m. 

 In the other half of the eight-team bracket, Maryland will take on Alabama (11/17, 5 p.m. ET/ESPN2) while Wichita State will battle Colorado (11/17, 7:30 p.m./ESPNU).

 The teams will have Saturday off with the final day of competition being held on Sunday, Nov. 20.  All games will be played at the Coliseo de Puerto Rico, in the cosmopolitan Hato Rey district of San Juan.

The Puerto Rico Tip-Off is owned and operated by ESPN Regional Television, Inc. (ERT), a subsidiary of ESPN.

#2 - Purdue vs. Iona 1:00 p.m. ESPNU

#3 - Maryland vs. Alabama 5:00 p.m ESPN2

Game 5 (winners of Game 1 & Game 2) 1:00 p.m ESPNU

Game 6 (losers of Game 1 & Game 2) 3:30 p.m.

Game 7 (losers of Game 3 & Game 4) 6:30 p.m. 

Game 8 (winners of Game 3 & Game 4) 9:00 p.m.
