Temple football received an oral commitment on Wednesday morning from Bristol, Conn. quarterback Logan Marchi.

The 6-foot-1, 175-pounder was committed to UConn and set to sign in February. But a few days before national signing day, the university denied his application. Marchi was forced to decommit and planned to attend prep school.

According to Hartford, Conn.’s WFSB-TV, Marchi will not attend prep school. He will enroll at Temple in January of 2015.

Marchi is a two-star recruit according to Rivals. Temple and Connecticut both offered him in May of 2013. He attended St. Paul High but transferred to the Gilbert School after last football season.
