Lee told the Morning News that he is academically qualified to play this season for any Division 1 team. Originally headed to East Carolina, Lee flipped his decision to Tennessee just days before February's national signing day.
In 2012, Lee missed the majority of his senior season after suffering a knee injury in the opening game. He rushed for 26 touchdowns and 1,642 yards as a junior. A three-star recruit by ESPN, Lee had offers from Virginia Tech, Minnesota, Miami (Oh.) and Bowling Green.
Brown cut. Former Owls running back Matt Brown was released by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week. Brown signed with the team in May after an expired passport kept him from signing with the CFL's Saskatchewan Roughriders.
