Owls face youthful Colonials

After notching its first Atlantic Ten victory, Temple is back on the road to face one of the nation’s youngest teams.

The Owls (11-4, 1-1) are in Washington for Wednesday’s 7 p.m. game against George Washington at the Charles E. Smith Center.

The Colonials (7-8, 1-1) could start four freshmen – guards Joe McDonald, Kethan Savage and Patricio Garino and forward Kevin Larsen – against Temple.  Senior forward Isaiah Armwood, a Villanova transfer, will be other starter.

On can also assume that Temple’s senior leadership, assuming the Owls make shots, will be too much for youthful GW.

This is the first of three consecutive games Temple is expected to win before traveling to Butler on Jan. 26. The Owls host St. Bonaventure (7-8, 0-2) Saturday before entertaining Penn (2-13) on Jan. 23.

George Washington, which has a three-game home winning streak, won’t be a pushover. However, Temple should run away from the Colonials in the second half.
