Temple tailback Matt Brown is listed day-to-day after reinjuring his sprained left ankle in Saturday's 17-14 Big East victory at Connecticut.
“He’s still the same,” said Owls coach Steve Addazio, whose squad entertains No.19 Rutgers in Saturday's game. “He was day-to-day last week. He opened the game up and tweaked it on [Temple’s] very first kickoff return."
Brown suffered the injury on a 24-yard return to the Owls 25-yard line with 5 minutes, 50 seconds left in the first quarter. It was his only action during the game. In the second half, he stood on the sidelines on crutches and in warmups.
The senior, originally, injured the ankle in the fourth quarter against South Florida on Oct. 6.
“He didn’t regress back to where he was when it hurt it a couple weeks ago, " Addazio said. "But he’s still hobbling with it a little bit and those things take a little bit of time.
“But he’s a tough guy, and I’m quite confident he’ll get himself ready to go.”
Cornerback Anthony Robey and center Sean Boyle also left the Huskies game with injuries. The two are expected to play against the Scarlet Knights.
“I think they’ll both be fine,” Addazio said. “We played in a big, tough, physical game. You’re going to get banged up.
“I don’t see any significant problem there. So I think we’ll be fine.”
