Temple guard Ramone Moore said anything less than a Sweet 16 appearance in the NCAA tournament would be a disappointment.
The Owls (24-7) are making their fifth consecutive tourney appearance. Last season’s run ended with a heartbreaking, 71-64, double overtime loss to San Diego State in the third round of the West Regional.
A year later, Temple is the No. 5 seed in the Midwest Regional and will open with a second-round game at the Bridgestone Arena on Friday at 9:55 p.m. in Nashville.
The Owls will face the winner of Wednesday’s first-round game between California and South Florida, the winner of which will emerge as a 12 seed.
