Rysheed Jordan announced his commitment to St. John's Thursday morning on Twitter.

The 6-foot-4 senior guard at Roberts Vaux High tweeted "IM A JOHNNIE!!!!!! #choosestjohns" at 8:57 a.m.

Moments later, Jordan tweeted "NEW YORK HERE I COME!!!!"

He picked the Red Storm over Temple and UCLA.

The Inquirer reported on Wednesday that he was leaning that way, and reported earlier Thursday morning that he had selected the Red Storm over Temple and UCLA.

Jordan, whose Twitter name is @SheedJordan, averaged 24.8 points, 6.1 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.3 steals this season. He also made 53 three-pointers while leading Vaux to the PIAA Class A state championship. He is regarded as the nation’s 22d-best college prospect in the Class of 2013, according ESPN.
