Temple tailback Bernard Pierce has a concussion, according to a source with knowledge.

The source added the 6-foot, 218-pounder's availability for Wednesday's night game against Miami of Ohio has yet to be determined. The coaches could make the decision today, the source said.

Pierce suffered the head injury on his final carry late in last Wednesday's 35-31 setback to Ohio in Athens, Ohio.  After the game, he spent several hours in an Athens area hospital and missed the team’s charter flight back to Philadelphia. He returned to Philly on Thursday.

Pierce was dazed on the play and had to be escorted to the sideline. He was already playing with a hamstring injury.
