Temple co-offensive coordinator Matt Rhule has left Owls to take an assistant offensive line position for the New York Giants, according to sources.

The Super Bowl champions have yet to announce the hire.

Rhule has been a Temple assistant for the past six seasons. After spending last season as the tight ends coach, Rhule was recently promoted to co-offensive coordinator with Ryan Day, who is returning to Temple after coaching at Boston College.

Rhule also served as Temple’s offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach under Al Golden from 2008 to 2010.
