Quarterback Connor Reilly, recovering from a bone bruise (right knee) suffered last Saturday against Houston, returned to practice on Wednesday but practiced with the second unit, further indication that backup quarterback Clinton Granger could start for Temple this Saturday against Fordham (1 p.m.).
“As of right now, Juice (Granger) is taking ones and I was running with the twos,” Reilly said. “He’s healthier, but coach Rhule will make the decision come game time.
Temple coach Matt Rhule, who did not speak to media on Wednesday, on Tuesday said that Reilly is “day-to-day.” Reilly did not practice on Tuesday. Following the team’s Tuesday practice Rhule said that if there had been a game on Tuesday Reilly wouldn’t have dressed or played.
Reilly said that if he played he would be able to make all of the throws required. However, he said his ability to run would be compromised.
