Randall expected to miss start of season

Temple coach Fran Dunphy said during Thursday's Atlantic Ten Media Day that he doesn't expect Scootie Randall to be ready at the start of the season due to knee rehabilitation.

The senior swingman had surgery on his left knee in June for a meniscus tear.

The 6-foot-6 Communications Tech product was named a third-team all-A-10 preseason selection.

The league's  2010-11  most improved player missed seven games this past season with a hairline fracture in his right foot. Randall averaged 10.7 points and 4.7 rebounds on an Owls team that finished 26-8 and reached the third round of the NCAA tournament.
