DeCosey starts in place of Randall

POSTED: Saturday, January 12, 2013, 5:59 PM

Temple freshman swingman Quenton DeCosey started in place of Scootie Randall in Saturday’s Atlantic Ten game against St. Louis at the Liacouras.

Randall, a fifth-year senior, has been struggling. Owls coach Fran Dunphy decided to go with DeCosey as a way to shake things up.

DeCosey is averaging three points and 1.4 rebounds a game. He's shooting 44 percent (8 of 18) on three-pointers.

Randall had a very streaky 13 points in Thursday's loss at Xavier.  The fifth-year senior swingman scored 11 first-half points on 4-for-5 shooting. He was 3 of 4 on three-pointers at the time. But he made just 1 of 10 shots after halftime.
