Temple tailback Bernard Pierce is ranked second in the nation in scoring (18 points per game) and sixth in rushing yards (297 yards).
The junior from Ardmore rushed for 147 yards and three touchdowns against Villanova in the Mayor’s Cup. Then he finished with 150 yards and three more touchdowns at Akron on Saturday night.
Pierce heads into this Saturday’s game against Penn State with 2,386 rushing yards, good for fourth on Temple’s all-time list. He also ranks second in career rushing touchdowns (32) behind Paul Palmer (39).
