Owls to face banged-up Zips

Last week, Temple played an inexperienced Villanova team. Now, the Owls (1-0) are preparing to face an injured Akron squad.

The Zips (0-1) will play without offensive tackle Jarrod Pughsley (quad), linebacker Matt Little (foot) and cornerback Bill Alexander (collarbone) for the second consecutive game.  Akron will make decisions on the availability of linebacker Troy Gilmer (ankle) and tailback Broderick Alexander (hamstring).

Gilmer was injured in last Saturday’s 42-0 setback to Ohio State.  Broderick Alexander missed the Buckeyes’ game.
