Temple offered football scholarships to Kingsway junior running back Ray Lawry Jr. and West Deptford junior running back/linebacker Gerald Owens on Thursday.

Both players were being recruited by the Owls before head coach Steve Addazio resigned Tuesday to take the head-coaching position at Boston College.

"So I guess this is reassurance that they are still interested in him," Ray Lawry Sr. said. "That's the way I looked at it. We went to a couple of [Temple games]. So he had a relationship.

"I took [the scholarship offer] as them saying we still want to recruit you regardless."

Both are 2014 recruits that should have a TON of offers by their senior year. The owls need a coach appointed ASAP
