Owls offer Florida linebacker

Temple has offered Ryne Rankin, a junior linebacker at Orland East River High (Fla.), a scholarship to play football. The 6-foot-1, 225-pounder also has an offer to play at Cincinnati. He’s also receiving recruiting interest from Penn State, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Louisville, Duke, Ohio State, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee and Central Florida. Rankin finished with 189 tackles, seven sacks, a defensive touchdown and caused eight fumbles last season. He is a Class 8A all-state selection by the Associated Press
