Temple freshman quarterback P.J. Walker has thrown a pair of touchdowns and the Temple  defense scored for the first time this season to help Temple to a 26-0 halftime lead over visiting Army at homecoming.

Making his second start, Walker threw touchdown passes of 37 and 39 yards, respectively, to Jalen Fitzpatrick and John Christopher, and Temple linebacker Nate D. Smith returned a fumble 19 yards for another score.

The Owls also scored on Kenny Harper’s 1-yard carry in the first half.

Walker has completed 8-of-12 passes for 183 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. Fitzpatrick has three receptions for 112 yards.

The Owls defense has limited Army’s top-ranked running game to just 81 yards on 25 carries.
