Owls deserved to lose

Folks at Dayton will praise the Flyers for coming into the Liacouras Center Saturday and snapping the Owls' 25-game home winning streak.

But in all honestly, Temple’s setback had more to do with the Owls (10-4, 0-1 A-10) than Dayton's effort. Something about not fully getting over Wednesday’s victory over fifth-ranked Duke hindered Temple against Dayton (12-4, 2-0).

“Sometimes in life, you get what you deserve,” Owls coach Fran Dunphy said after Saturday’s 87-77 setback to the Flyers. “We weren’t as ready as we needed to be. And, again, Dayton played better than we did. And they deserved to win the game.”
