If you get to Lincoln Financial Field early enough on Saturday, you’ll be there in time to participate in a new tradition for the Temple football team.

At 9:30 on Saturday morning, the Owls will conduct what they have termed a “Fly In.” It’s a new tradition that will see the Owls unload from their game-day buses on Pattison Ave and then walk through Lot K with the marching band and into the stadium.

Also, Saturday’s game with Houston will feature the debut of Stella the Owl.

The team’s new mascot, Stella is a 3 ½-year-old, Great Horned owl from the Elmwood Park Zoo in Norristown. She made her debut at a scrimmage earlier this summer. Stella will be a regular at all Temple home games.
