Negandhi, Papale and Cosby speak to Owls

Temple is receiving its share of motivational speeches.

For the third time in four days, the Owls had a guess speaker address them after football practice.

Former Eagle Vince Papale spoke to Temple Tuesday. Bill Cosby, a comedian, actor and former Owl, addressed the team Monday. And Kevin Negandhi, an anchor on ESPN’s SportsCenter and Temple alum, gave the team a pep talk Saturday.

Papale was the inspiration for the movie Invincible.

Position switch:Tomas Cabrera, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound sophomore, was moved from wideout to defensive back during football camp. The Hanover Area High School product was one of five true freshmen to see action last season.

Junior Ahkeem Smith and sophomore Wyatt Benson have also been practicing on the opposite side of the ball.

Listed as a running back, former Liberty standout Smith has been practicing with the defensive backs.  Benson, a product of the Haverford School, has been working with the running backs. He’s listed as a linebacker.

Smith and Benson haven't officially had their positions switched.
