Myles no longer an Owl

Myron Myles is no longer a member of Temple’s football team.

“He decided to pursue options elsewhere and we wish him all the best,” Owls coach Steve Addazio said Thursday.

According to sources, the reserve tailback was dismissed last week after getting into a verbal altercation with an assistant coach. One source added the redshirt freshman was frustrated over his lack of playing time.

Myles scored three touchdowns to lead the White to a 27-26 victory  over the Cherry in last spring’s Cherry and White game.  He had 20 carries for 133 yards and two rushing scores. He also caught a 21-yard touchdown.

After that performance, Myles was slated to battle for this season's backup tailback position. He, however, missed most of training camp with an injury and dropped to fourth string on the depth chart.
