Temple placekicker/punter Brandon McManus was named the Big East specialist of the week on Monday.

The senior’s 29-yard field goal in overtime gave the Owls a 17-14 victory over Connecticut on Saturday.  McManus also averaged 42.6 yards on eight punts.

This is his third conference specialist-of-the-week award of the season.  

McManus leads the conference in punting (44.9 yards per punt) and is third in the conference in scoring  (7.8 points per game).

Running back Montel Harris and linebacker Tyler Matakevich made the conference’s weekly honor roll.

Harris, a fifth-year senior, had a 142 rushing yards and a touchdown against the Huskies. Matakevich, a true freshman, finished with a game-high 19 tackles in the win.
