Lunardi: Owls move up to No.5 seed

Temple would be the fifth seed in the East region if the NCAA tournament began today, according to ESPN college basketball analyst Joe Lunardi.

Lunardi, known as Joey Brackets, moved the 21st-ranked Owls from a No. 6 seed after Saturday’s win at Fordman.

In his updated Bracketology, Lunardi has Temple facing No. 12 seed Brigham Young in a second-round game in Portland.

The winner will face the winner of the No. 4 Wichita State vs. No. 13 Nevada game in the next round.

Lunardi, a St. Joseph’s graduate who does Hawks radio broadcasts, has three Atlantic Ten teams playing in the NCAA tournament. He lists St. Louis as the 10th seed in the West, while Xavier is one of the two 12 seeds in the West. Lunardi has the Musketeers playing Seton Hall, the West’s other 12 seed, in a first-game game.
