Lunardi: Owls drop to six seed

Temple would be the No. 6 seed in the East region if the NCAA tournament field was picked today, according to ESPN college basketball analyst Joe Lunardi.

Lunardi, known as Joey Brackets, moved the 21st-ranked Owls from a No. 5 seed after Friday's 77-71 Atlantic Ten tournament quarterfinal loss to Massachusetts.

In Saturday's updated Bracketology, Lunardi has Temple facing No. 11 seed Virginia Commonwealth in a second-round game in Columbus, Ohio.

The winner will face the winner of the No. 3 Michigan vs. No. 14 Akron game in the next round.

Lunardi, a St. Joseph’s graduate who does Hawks radio broadcasts, has three Atlantic Ten teams playing in the NCAA tournament. He lists St. Louis as the eighth seed in the West, while Xavier is his 12th in the Midwest.
