Loeffler named offensive coordinator at Auburn

Temple offensive coordinator Scot Loeffler has resigned to take the same position at Auburn.

"Auburn is one of the special jobs and special places in college athletics with a tremendous amount of history and tradition," Loeffler said in a press release. "It’s an honor to be joining Coach Chizik’s staff and I’m very appreciative of this opportunity. I’m excited to get started and look forward to beginning recruiting, meeting the players and staff, and interacting with the Auburn family.”

Loeffler, who also served as the Owls quarterback coach, came to Temple after Steve Addazio became the Owls head coach in December, 2010. Both coached under Urban Meyer at Florida.

“I am very happy for Scot and his family,” Addazio said in a statement. “This is a great opportunity for him and his career. We are very grateful for his contributions to Temple, and we certainly understand that when our great coaches have opportunities, it’s a compliment to our program. We wish Scot nothing but the best. He will always have a special place here at Temple.”
