Former Temple standouts Lance Johnstone and Marc Jackson are the headliners of the 2012 Temple Athletic Hall of Fame class.

The group of six individuals and the Owls 1988 NCAA women’s lacrosse championship team will be inducted during Temple’s homecoming game against South Florida on Oct. 6.

Johnstone was a standout linebacker on Temple's football team in the mid 1990s. He holds the school record for career solo tackles (288) and is second in career total stops (429). The Philadelphia native went on play eight seasons in the NFL with the Oakland Raiders and Minnesota Vikings.

Jackson scored 1,001 points in his two seasons as a member of the Owls men’s basketball team. The center was the Atlantic Ten player of the year for the 1996-97 season. He was a two-time all-Atlantic Ten and Big 5 selection. Jackson was the Golden State Warriors’ second-round draft pick in 1997. The Philadelphia native played seven seasons in the NBA.

Danny Akerman (men’s gymnastics), Peter Moore (baseball), JR Read (men’s crew) and Doug Shobert (football) are the other former Temple standouts who will be inducted.
