Johnson, McManus honored by CFPA

Temple middle linebacker Stephen Johnson and placekicker/punter Brandon McManus are College Football Performance Awards honorable-mention selections. This marks McManus' second time in as many weeks that he was honored by the CFPA.

Temple middle linebacker Stephen Johnson and placekicker/punter Brandon McManus are College Football Performance Awards honorable-mention selections. This marks McManus' second time in as many weeks that he was honored by the CFPA.

The two were recognized for their play in Saturday's 42-0 victory at Ball State.

Johnson recorded a career-best 16 tackles and his first career sack. For his effort, the fifth-year senior  was also named the Mid-American Conference's defensive player of the week by the College Sports Madness.

McManus kicked six extra points  to extend his consecutive made PAT streak to 24. He also kicked a 47-yard punt that landed inside Ball State's 20.
