Heath: Owls won't need introduction to Big East

NASHVILLE -  A reporter asked South Florida coach Stan Heath was Friday's NCAA tournament matchup a chance to show Temple just what Big East Conference basketball is all about.

The Owls will become a football member of the conference next season and join for all sports in 2013.

"They won't need any introduction," Heath said of the Owls basketball. "They play on a national scale. They beat Duke this year. So, they don't need an introduction.

"They are going to be fine. They're a great program, and they'll fit in extremely well with the Big East."
