Friend named to Rimington Watch List

The Rimington Trophy, which annually honors the top collegiate center in the country, announced its Watch List on Monday and Temple center Kyle Friend is on it.

Friend, who will be a junior next season, has started 16 consecutive games at right guard and center, where he has started 11 straight games. Friend, who started as a true freshman, was the only Temple player to play every offensive snap during the 2013 season. One of Temple’s four captains last season, friend, a native of Carlisle, has earned conference All-Academic honors in each of his first two seasons.

“I’m honored to be on the 2014 Rimington Watch List,” Friend said. “I’m very proud when an honor is bestowed upon our school and I’m humbled that I can bring positive recognition to Temple.”
