Former Owl signs with indoor football team

Former Temple wideout Jamel Harris has recently signed a contact with the Harrisburg Stampede of the American Indoor Football Association.

Harris was a three-year starter for the Owls from 2004-2006. As a junior in 2005, he had 20 receptions for 241 yards.

"Jamel has outstanding speed and hands,"said Bernie Nowotarski, the Stempede's general manager and head coach said in a press release Friday. " He is also a capable two-way player being able to play defensive back if necessary.

"He also brings with him AIFA indoor experience from his time playing with the Yakima Warriors in the great state of Washington."

The 6-foot, 200-pound Harris had 42 receptions for 509 yards and seven touchdowns in seven games with the Warriors in 2010. He also had two interceptions at defensive back.
