Deloatch to squeeze in Temple official visit

Romond Deloatch, a senior wideout at Phoebus High School (Va.), will have a busy weekend.

The 6-foot-4, 213-pounder will take an official visit to Temple Friday. Then, he'll drive to Virginia Tech to take an official visit on Saturday and Sunday.

"Those are the two [schools] I'm down to," he told HokieHaven.com. "They are both good programs with good coaches who take care of their players and graduate them. At the same time, both places I can get good looks from the NFL."

Unlike Temple, Virginia Tech has yet to offer him a scholarship. But he could receive one soon. Virginia Tech's coaches are expected to visit him later this week and on Tuesday, according to HokieHaven.com.

Part of the reason why Deloatch is squeezing in the official visits is because National Signing Day is on Feb. 1. Next weekend, he's scheduled to participate in the Team USA vs the World all-star game in Texas.

"If it's not on, it'll probably be right before Signing Day," Deloatch told HokieHaven.com of making a commitment. "It's hard right now, because I'm trying to find a school not just for football, but surroundings, somewhere I can graduate, get the best education I can and have fun at the same time."

Blacksburg is in the middle of nowhere, so Temple is the right choice. Of course Virginia Tech offers Cadillac SRXs, moonshine, liberal gun laws, and a rousing dog fighting circuit.
