Temple University president Neil D. Theobald announced today that Kevin G. Clark has been appointed vice president and director of athletics. Clark’s appointment is effective immediately.
Clark has spent the last year as a senior advisor to Theobald. He has also served as interim athletic director since May 3.
Before coming to Temple, Clark spent the previous 11 years as a member of Indiana University’s senior athletic staff. His last two years at Indiana were spent as senior associate athletic director of internal operations.
Clark has also served as director of business administration-student development and as assistant athletic director of business and finances at St. Louis University from 1996-2000.
“Kevin’s positions at Saint Louis and Indiana universities give him extensive first-hand experience in both the financial and managerial challenges of sports at the highest levels,” said Theobald. “I believe he is exactly the person we need to take on the challenges our Athletics.”
