Carraway suspended for Rutgers game

The Big East suspended Temple safety Vaughn Carraway from Saturday's game against 19th-ranked Rutgers due to committing a flagrant foul during last week's 17-14 overtime victory at Connecticut.

The Big East suspended Temple safety Vaughn Carraway from Saturday's game against 19th-ranked Rutgers due to committing a flagrant foul during last week's 17-14 overtime victory at Connecticut.

The senior was flagged for a personal foul after hitting a defenseless receiver in the second half. 

Carraway ranks fifth on the team in tackles with 28. The 6-foot-2, 192-pounder also has an interception, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery. He returned his interception 57 yards for a touchdown against Villanova in the Mayor's Cup.

Sophomore safety Chris Hutton started in his place.
