ATHENS, Ohio – Carolina Panthers general manager Marty Hurney is scheduled to attend Temple’s Wednesday night game against Ohio.
Hurney and representatives from the New York Giants, New England Patriots, New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be on hand to scout players.
So who are they mainly coming to scout from Temple?
"Bernard Pierce," an Ohio source said of the junior tailback.
The source said the scouts also want to look at “a couple Owls linebackers and No. 6 [junior cornerback Maurice Jones.]”

- Pierce is extremely talented but how long would he last in the NFL considering he's regularly getting hurt at the college level? Hurt or not, it will be interesting to see if he rises to the challenge against OU knowing scouts are there watching. Go Bernard and Owls.
Pierce will do well in the NFL because he has been pounded at Temple. With no passing game, the defense keys on him. However, he sets rushing and scoring records despite the extra attention. damnels
Pierce remind me of James Sparks of the Packers, the unknown slasher out of Univerity of Buffalo who is a downhill physical runner, who like Pierce, runs a little too high, thus will be taking hits galore...He'll make an impact on a team, but doesn't possess the speed to be a star..But he'll make coin....The kid at Penn State (sophmore Silas Redd), hope someday he becomes an Eagle! bearsfriend
