Camden Catholic rising senior middle linebacker Jarred Alwan gave a verbal commitment Thursday to play football at Temple.

The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder chose the Owls over offers from West Virginia, Boston College and Massachusetts. The Inquirer’s all-South Jersey selection actually cancelled his visit to West Virginia after making his commitment.

Alwan becomes Temple’s ninth commitment for the Class of 2013, and the sixth from New Jersey. He is regarded as three-star recruit by Rivals.com.

Read more about his commitment in Friday’s Inquirer.
