CSM names Levi Brown all-Big East

Temple defensive tackle Levi Brown has been named a preseason all-Big East Conference selection by College Sports Madness.

Owls running back Matt Brown and safety Justin Gildea garnered second-team honors. Offensive tackle Martin Wallace and place kicker Brandon McManus are third-team selections.

Levi Brown, a 6-foot-2, 300-pound junior, finished with 23 tackles and a forced fumble last season.

Matt Brown had 155 carries for 916 yards and six touchdowns last season. The senior was also a third-team all-conference selection as a kick returner. He returned 28 kicks for 703 yards (25.1 yards-per-return) and a touchdown.

Gildea, a senior, finished with 51 tackles and three interceptions last season.,

McManus made 16 of 22 field-goal attempts. The senior also had a punting average of 45.8 yards. And Wallace started all 13 games last season at right tackle. The senior also played on the field-goal unit.
