According to multiple sources, the Big East Conference presidents began meeting at 8 a.m. Wednesday in New York to vote on adding Temple football in 2012 and all other sports in 2013.

The Big East needs an eighth football member for next season, because West Virginia left for the Big 12.

The Owls are members of the Mid-American Conference for football, and the Atlantic Ten Conference for all sports besides football.
