Akrum Wadley was the second Temple commit to accept a scholarship offer from another school on Saturday.

The senior running back, who played at Weequahic High School (N.J.) announced that he would now be an Iowa Hawkeye after visiting the Big Ten campus this weekend. He originally committed to Temple on Jan. 21.

Iowa coach Kirt Ferentz visited Wadley on Tuesday. That and Iowa’s campus sold him on the Hawkeyes.

“It reminds me of where I grew up in South Jersey in Willingboro,” Wadley told NJ.com. “ That campus incredible. They have a nice indoor facility. And I watched clips of the fans on YouTube, and they are really into it. It’s the Big Ten, and I want to compete at the highest level.”

The 5-foot-10, 175-pound is a student at University High (NJ), which doesn’t have a football team.

He was recognized as a second-team all-state selection by the Newark Star-Ledger. Was also a standout defensive back and kick returner for the Indians this past season.

Wadley carried the ball 105 times for 1,548 yards (14.7 yards per carry) and 29 scores.

Another Temple commit, Paul Davis, announced Saturday that he will flip his commitment to Georgia Tech on Sunday.
