The upcoming contest against Temple wasn’t the only thing Randy Edsall talked about during Wednesday’s Atlantic Coast Conference football teleconference.

The Maryland first-year coach gave his thoughts on Pittsburgh and Syracuse leaving the Big East to become the 13th and 14th members of the Atlantic Coast Conference.

As you can imagine, Edsall had a lot to say.

Enough about Penn State.

Temple coach Steve Addazio talks about his decision to name Chester Stewart the starting quarterback over Mike Gerardi for Saturday's game at Maryland.

The first-year coach decision was based on Stewart's performance in last Saturday's 14-10 setback to Penn State.

Stewart completed 3 of 6 passes for 28 yards that game. He also had nine carries for 19 yards. Stewart is 4 of 8 for 46 yards passing on the season.

Steve Addazio still won’t call last Saturday’s 14-10 setback to Penn State a moral victory.

But Temple's first-year coach is pleased with his Mid-American Conference team’s performance against the Big Ten squad.

It was a performance Addazio thinks will help the Owls (2-1) against Maryland in College Park, Md. on Saturday.

Temple has yet to determine a starting quarterback for Saturday’s game at Maryland.

“We haven’t made all those decisions, yet,” said Owls coach Steve Addazio, when asked Monday if Mike Gerardi would start against the Terrapins. “We are still evaluating our game-plan … We are in the process of all that.

Gerardi, a 6-foot-2, 206-pound junior, started the first three games for Temple. He will battle Chester Stewart for the starting position this week.
