Redshirt junior quarterback Mike Gerardi is no longer a member of Temple's football team, according to multiple sources.
The 6-foot-2, 206-pounder opted to graduate from Temple this spring instead of being next season's third-string quarterback.
Gerardi started this past season's first three games before losing his position to Chester Stewart. By season's end, with Chris Coyer as the starter, he battled Juice Granger for the third-string spot.

Ronnie Gillespie, a senior wideout at Upper Perkiomen High School, will not sign a national letter of intent to Temple on Wednesday as orginally planned.
The 5-foot-9, 160-pound speedster will head to a junior college.

Nate Smith, a senior defensive back at Archbishop Wood High School, gave an oral commitment to play football at Temple on Monday night.
The 6-foot, 190-pounder orginally gave an oral commitment to West Virginia. But he changed his mind after West Virginia defensive coordinator, Jeff Casteel, resigned to coach at Arizona under Rich Rodriguez.
Smith also had scholarship offers from Michigan State, South Carolina and Toledo.

Temple is back on the consistency track.
After riding a big-win, ugly-loss seesaw, the Owls are on an impressive four-game winning streak.
So what’s the difference?

Here are my Atlantic Ten power rankings heading into Wednesday’s matchups.
1. Temple (15-5, 4-2). With Micheal Eric, the Owls are much improved. Expect them to extend their four-game winning streak with upcoming games against Fordham, Rhode Island and George Washington.
2. Massachusetts (16-5, 5-2). The Minutemen haven’t exactly had a tough schedule. But Saturday’s victory over St. Louis goes a long way in the statement-game category.

Temple has a Ratings Percentage Index higher than all but two Big East Conference teams.
The Owls (15-5) have the nation's 13th-best RPI, according to CBSsports.com and RPIForecast.com.
Big East member Syracuse has the top RPI, while Marquette, another Big East school, is 10th, according to both websites.

Bret Niederreither, a senior defensive lineman at Red Land High, and Jamie Gilmore, a senior running back at North Marion (Fla.), gave oral commitments to play football at Temple on Sunday.
National Signing Day is on Wednesday.
Niederreither, a 6-foot-3, 250-pounder, originally, gave an oral commitment to West Virginia. But he changed his mind after West Virginia defensive coordinator, Jeff Casteel, resigned to coach at Arizona under Rich Rodriguez.

Unless something drastically changes, Steve Addazio will remain Temple’s football coach, according to sources.
“He’s not going to Rutgers,” said one source with inside knowledge.
Multiple reports have put Addazio among the leading candidates for the Scarlet Knights job, which opened up Thursday when Greg Schiano was hired by the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
