Temple lists true freshman Kyle Friend as starting right guard

Temple true freshman Kyle Friend is listed as the starting right guard against Penn State on Saturday at Beaver Stadium.

The 6-foot-2, 300-pounder will start in place of sophomore Jaimen Newman, who has been battling injuries since training camp. Friend saw action as a reserve in the first two games.

A young team, the Owls (1-1) will have 19 freshmen and sophomores on their two-deep depth chart against the Nittany Lions (1-2).

Here’s a glimpse of Temple’s two-deep depth chart for Saturday’s game.
