Yesterday evening, The National Constitution Center hosted a '20s inspired cocktail competition at the beautiful Stratus Rooftop Lounge at Hotel Monaco. The event was in celebration of the Center's premiere exhibition American Spirits: The Rise and Fall of Prohibition.

To honor this period in American history, Philadelphia mixologists from Stratus Rooftop Lounge at the Hotel Monaco, Square 1682 at the Hotel Palomar, XIX at the Hyatt at the Bellevue, Amuse Bar at the Le Meridien, and 10 Arts Lounge at The Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia gathered to battle for guests and judges senses with the objective of earning a title in the "Best '20s-Inspired Cocktail" competition. Attendees were dazzled with delicious, authentic cocktail creations made traditionally with distilled Bluecoat Gin and other fine ingredients. Guest judges included Philadelphia personalities Laura Burkhardt, WHERE Magazine Publisher; Marisa Magnatta, Associate Producer of WMMR’s Preston and Steve Morning Show; Maria Papadakis, Emmy award-winning media personality and spokeswoman; and Brian Sims, Pennsylvania State Representative. The evening was emceed by FOX 29 traffic reporter Kacie McDonnell. 

When all was said and sipped on, Nate Churchill of XIX earned the title of "Judge Favorite" for his Orange Blossom, while Stephen Diaz of 10 Arts at the Ritz Carlton received "Guest Favorite" for his Red Fizz Charleston. Congratulations to all participants!

Last night, in honor of a record producing genius, dozens and dozens of fans piled into Johnny Brenda’s to celebrate the life of the legendary J Dilla.

The sold out show featured three of Philly’s finest DJs – Questlove, Rich Medina and Mike Nyce; who payed tribute by playing classic mixes inspired by J Dilla. To accent the special night, a portion of the proceeds from all ticket sales went to benefit The Lupus Foundation on behalf of the late, great producer.

A local Oscars party with glamour, glitz and more?

In honor of the 85th annual Academy Awards show, Philadelphia Style's editor-in-chief Kristin Detterline and editor Jimmy Contreras hosted an unforgettable event at the infamous 10 Arts Bistro & Lounge. The dress-to-impress party brought out a crowd of almost 600.

Guests enjoyed cocktails from George Clooney's new line of liquor Casamigos Tequila and Tito's Handmade Vodka (have you seen the commercials? Downright hysterical). The party kicked off at 6 with delicious treats from chef Nathan Volz and sweets from Whipped Bakeshop.

The "Valentine to the Market" gala was held at the Reading Terminal Market Saturday evening.

The event's purpose was to help preserve and raise funds for the market. Over twenty local vendors provided food to guests, and a tarot card reader offered "Love Line Readings" to interested parties.

The first annual Philly DoGooder Awards were held at the University of the Arts' Hamilton Hall last night. The sold out event and campaign was hosted by Here's My Chance. The campaign was put in place to help promote local Philadelphia creatives who strived to bring together the diverse community in a positive and sustainable way. Mayor Michael Nutter was on hand to help give out the awards to the winners which included our very own executive producer Leah Kauffman, who won the award for Innovation Storytelling. 

Other winners included Innovation in Community Building HughE Dillon, contributor and PhillyChitChat founder, Desiree Peterkin-Bell, from the city's communication department, as well as several others.

The Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, producer of the Philadelphia Flower Show, celebrated the launch of this year's upcoming show "Brilliant!" in association with Philadelphia Style Magazine at SugarHouse Casino on Thursday, February 21. This year, the show will be open to the public from Saturday, March 2 through Sunday, March 10 at the Convention Center.

InLiquid, a non-profit arts organization in Philadelphia, celebrated their 13th anniversary with a VIP preview party and reception at The Crane Arts building near Northern Liberties. Proceeds from the party went towards InLiquid’s mission to expand exposure for local visual artists.

The Young Friends of the Philadelphia Museum of Art gathered at Hotel Monaco on Wednesday to hold its annual press party for the 2013 Winter Gala: A Great and Might benefit.

It was a positive effort to help drive ticket sales before the much-anticipated gala and to meet new "Friends" with light fair and cocktail offerings, in addition to the opportunity to network.
