The weather was perfect on Saturday for the annual Easter Egg Hunt on East Passyunk Avenue. Hundreds of kids and their parents showed up for the first biggest local hunt of the Easter season, and the line wrapped around the lawn, and beyond, of the South Philadelphia Older Adult Center. The event was supposed to run from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m., but there were so many people it ended just before 2 p.m.

Groups of 30 kids were allowed onto the lawn every 10 minutes to scoop up the dozens and dozens of colorful eggs decorated in various spring colors. As they waited in line, the kids also had a chance to decorate egg collecting bags, with South Philly boutique Occasionette, to store their found prized eggs.

95.7BenFM was on hand to entertain the crowd with fun family songs and holiday dances. The Easter Bunny was also there greeting the kids, and posing for lots of fun photos. Afterwards several restaurants on the Avenue had special brunch menus and bakery discounts to enjoy. It was a very 'egg-citing' day.
