The Chestnut Hill Business District hosted its inaugural Dog Days of Summer festival on Sunday, July 13, 2014 along Germantown Ave.

Pets and their friends strolled the avenue, enjoyed lunch and participated in fun activities including kids activities like Pin The Tail on the Puppy, face painting, arts & crafts, and fortune telling with pet paws. Several restaurants had "Yappy Hours" with special food and drinks for the pooches. There were also a number of local animal rescues involved in the festival, including PAWS, Philadoptables, Finding Shelter, Blind Dog Rescue, New Leash on Life, PACT and Brenda’s Cat Rescue.
