The map proposed by Council leadership, courtesy Inquirer graphics. Notice the lack of a crazy rat-tail from the 7th district squiggling into the Northeast.
Two plans for how to map the city's Councilmanic districts were proposed in Council yesterday; you can read Jan Ransom's write-up here and Bob Warner's here. To our inexpert eyes, both versions appear superior to the current map, but obviously there are still negotiations to be had before one of them becomes the city map.

The proposed maps are still a mess. The state should step in because these maps are drawn to divide dissent and to create chaos between disparate neighborhoods rather than to create strong representation. Divide and conquer is going to mean Philly continues to slowly decay under the failed leadership of a corrupt Democratic machine. CleanupPhilly
