Frankly I would just paste Chris Brennan's whole Clout post about this so go here.

Mario Cattabiani wrote today about Perzel's rise and fall. Money quote:

In the public's eye, Perzel's stock began plunging after the debacle that was the 2005 legislative pay raise.

Perzel helped orchestrate the pay grab and for months was unapologetic even in the face of fervent public backlash.

Then the political gaffes started coming. In trying to defend the raises, he said that tattoo artists in Philadelphia make more than legislators and that even immigrants cow milkers in Lancaster County made between $50,000 and $55,000.

The Post-Gazette has a helpful timeline of everything Bonus-gate and after.

About It's Our Money
Every year, city government spends slightly more than $4 billion. Where does all that money come from? More importantly, where does it go? Are we getting the most bang for our tax buck? “It's Our Money” is a joint project between Philadelphia Daily News and WHYY, funded by the William Penn Foundation, designed to answer these questions.

PILE OF BOTTLES FILLED WITH URINE

City Howl

The water bottles lying in a pile on Buttonwood Street were not filled with water. Their contents were a mysterious, yellow liquid - one closer to brown, the others the color of lemonade.
