Ideas from elsewhere: Outlaw snow

Via Governing, an interesting tidbit from Syracuse, N.Y. On March 30, 1992, after a record season for snowfall, the Syracuse Common Council unanimously approved this resolution:

"Be it resolved, on behalf of the snow-weary citizens of the city of Syracuse, any further snowfall is expressly outlawed in the city of Syracuse until December 24, 1992."

It's bold, ambitious and public-minded. We love it. Frankly, we don't know why we can't see more legislation of this caliber from our City Council.

Never mind that Syracuse got hit with two more inches two days after this passed. Never mind that at all.

The water bottles lying in a pile on Buttonwood Street were not filled with water. Their contents were a mysterious, yellow liquid - one closer to brown, the others the color of lemonade.
